10. Brake system


Design and technical characteristics

The brake system is structurally executed according to the separate two-circuit scheme on forward and back wheels. The brake mechanism of disk type with a hydraulic actuator and self-regulation of compensation of wear of blocks. Each contour has the tank on the main brake cylinder. For increase in efficiency the brake system is executed with the vacuum amplifier (strengthening coefficient — three).

On some cars of the last years of release the anti-blocking brake system (ABS) was installed.
The parking brake with the mechanical (hummock) drive of drum type also affects back wheels, and drums are structurally executed on back disks. Gaps of blocks are regulated manually through each 48000 km of a run.

After carrying out any works connected with a detachment of hydraulic lines of brakes or loss of brake fluid it is necessary to carry out pumping of the brake system.

The final stage of works on the brake system is the running in (check on functioning). Brakes should be checked both on big, and at a small speed.

Operation of the brake system is influenced by a condition of tires, car loading (its centering). Frequency of survey on tightness each 16000 km. Replacement of brake fluid once a year.
