Adjustment of gaps of valves on the engine M 123 |
- Uncover a head of the block and turn out spark plugs.
- Rotating a pulley of a bent shaft, expose the piston of the first cylinder in VMT so that the inlet valve was closed (the top of a ledge of a cam is directed up).
- A set of probes (see the table) check a gap between a nape of a cam and a back of the lever. If the gap is normal, then the probe has to enter with easy jamming. If is not present, weaken a lock-nut and turn of an adjusting bolt by means of a wrench achieve an appropriate gap. After adjustment tighten a bolt lock-nut.
- If the adjusting bolt did not possible to receive the required gap, it is possible to replace a press head on a valve core.
- Repeat this operation on other inlet valves in the sequence 1 — 5 — 3 — 6 — 2 — 4; then in the same way adjust final valves.
- Pay special attention to an arrangement of valves.
