  1. Make sure that on the surface of conrod and radical necks there are no gaps and scratches. Check ovality of conrod necks in several provisions by means of a micrometer. If ovality exceeds 0,05 mm, the bent shaft should be pereshlifovat. In the same way check radical necks.
  2. If regrinding of a bent shaft and installation of new bearings is required, prepare inserts of the increased repair size.
  3. If axial shift exceeds the established admissions, replace inserts of radical bearings. Surely replace inserts during capital repairs of the engine even if their external state does not raise doubts. If after survey the bent shaft can be considered suitable for further work without regrinding, be convinced that new inserts are identical to the removed inserts which can have the nominal or reduced repair size.
  1. Wear of bearings can be defined precisely by means of the Plastigage set. Place a plastic wire across a dry neck of a shaft. Then put on a cover of the radical bearing and tighten bolts the determined moment. After removal of a cover check thread width a special template and compare a working gap to data of technical characteristics.

  1. If on models of cars with the mechanical transmission the directing bearing on the back end of a bent shaft has teases or rustles at a provorachivaniye, take out it a stripper and put the new bearing.
