2.9.16.5. Installation of an intermediate asterisk and shaft

Engine M 110

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. By means of a mandrel from soft metal press the back bearing of a shaft aflush in the block of cylinders. Track that the flute held extreme top position.
  2. Put the forward bearing on an intermediate shaft, then, having greased the back bearing, insert both bearings into the block of cylinders. Make sure that the segment spline is in a shaft flute.
  3. Put the fixing washer together with a bolt and a spring cutting ring and tighten a bolt.
  4. Establish an intermediate asterisk on a shaft and take a shaft by means of a bolt. Make sure that the chain entered gearing with asterisk teeths.
  5. Insert a bolt with the channel of supply of oil and a washer, tighten them till the specified moment, having blocked an intermediate gear wheel.
  6. Insert a restrictive bolt of a chain into the block of cylinders and tighten it.
  7. Connect a lead to an intermediate gear wheel, then install the distributor case with new laying and combine a groove of the leading gear wheel with a lead. Insert and tighten bolts.
  8. If it is provided by a design, insert the reducing valve of the lubrication system into a VMT sensor arm. Grease a stopper carving with sealing paste, insert and tighten a stopper.
  9. Establish a damper of tortional fluctuations and a pulley, insert and tighten bolts.
  10. By means of a bolt enter the leading shaft of the oil pump into gearing with the pump.
  1. Slightly grease a stopper with sealing paste and press it in the block of cylinders over the leading in bulk of the oil pump.


Engine M 123

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Grease the forward bearing of an intermediate shaft and put it on an intermediate shaft, then insert them into the block, directing bore of the bearing to an opening for a bolt. Track that the segment spline was in a shaft flute.
  2. Put on the fixing washer and tighten a bolt.
  3. Establish an intermediate gear wheel on a shaft and take a shaft by means of a removable bolt. Make sure that the chain is in gearing with asterisk teeths.
  4. Insert and tighten a bolt, having blocked an intermediate asterisk.
  5. Insert a restrictive bolt of a distributive chain into the block of cylinders and tighten it.
  6. Insert a guide of the right branch of a chain and center an opening for a finger. Apply a little sealing paste on a flange of a finger and press it the hammer in the block of cylinders.
  7. Establish a damper of tortional fluctuations and a pulley, insert and tighten bolts.
  8. Enter a camshaft asterisk into gearing with a chain and put on it the camshaft. Insert and tighten a bolt, having blocked an asterisk by means of the metal core passed in one of its openings.
  9. Put a cover on a forward part of the block of cylinders together with new laying, insert bolts and evenly tighten them.
  10. Where it is required by a design, establish a hydraulic pump of a control system of height of a back suspension bracket.
  11. Having convinced that the piston of the 1st cylinder still is in VMT, insert into place an ignition distributor shaft so that its groove was approximately parallel with the block of cylinders and the wide segment was directed to the engine. After installation of a natyazhitel of a chain this parallelism has to be again checked.
  12. Establish the directing casing and a pro-rate of the distributor, then insert and tighten a bolt.

If the engine is installed on the car, perform all preliminary operations in the return sequence.
