7.11. Check and adjustment of angles of installation of forward wheels
Check of angles of installation of wheels is obligatory if replacement or repair of details of a suspension bracket which can cause change of angles of installation of wheels is made.
Before adjustment of angles of installation of wheels check:
- air pressure in tires;
- axial gap in bearings of naves of forward wheels;
- serviceability of shock-absorbers;
- radial and axial beating of disks of wheels;
- gaps in the top and lower spherical hinges of a suspension bracket;
- serviceability of saylent-blocks;
- free wheeling of a steering wheel;
- lack of side plays in steering drafts.
Eliminate the found malfunctions and make necessary adjustments.
Just before adjustment it is necessary to meet the following conditions:
- the car has to be completed, with the full fuel tank, a spare wheel and a set of the tool;
- the steering wheel is established in average situation;
- forward and back parts of the prozhat car 2 — 3 times from top to down by effort of 40 — 50 kgfs.
Sequence of check and adjustment of angles of installation of wheels:
- Corner of a longitudinal inclination of an axis of turn.
- Disorder corner.
The corner of a longitudinal inclination of an axis of turn of wheels is regulated by auxiliary draft 49 and has to be in limits 8 °45 '±30 ° the Difference of corners of a longitudinal inclination of an axis of turn of the left and right wheels should not exceed 0 °30'.
The corner of disorder of wheels is regulated by an eccentric finger 19 and has to be in limits 0 °120'.
At adjustments of a longitudinal inclination and disorder of wheels it is necessary to consider their mutual influence. At change of a longitudinal tilt angle of an axis of turn of a wheel on 0 °30' in the direction minus, a corner of disorder changes approximately on 0 °10' in the direction minus. At change of disorder of a wheel on 0 °10' in the direction minus the longitudinal tilt angle of an axis of turn of a wheel changes approximately on 0 °10' in the direction plus. Therefore after adjustment of disorder of wheels it is necessary to control a corner of a longitudinal inclination of an axis of turn and vice versa.
The convergence of forward wheels is regulated by cross steering drafts. For adjustment weaken coupling buckles of cross steering drafts and turn couplings at a necessary size. A convergence of wheels (forward wheels are unclenched with a force of 9 — 11 kgfs.) 0 °25 '±10' or 3±1 mm. Having executed adjustment install coupling buckles horizontally and tighten them in such situation. At the tightened nuts of an edge of cuts of coupling buckles should not adjoin.
